360 Tummy Tuck and Lower Body Lift In Dubai
When loose skin goes all the way around the body, the operation may need to do the same.
“The loose skin is not only in front. It continues around my waist, lower back and buttocks.”
A tummy tuck treats the front of the abdomen. An extended tummy tuck reaches farther into the sides. But some patients—particularly after major weight loss—have a continuous belt of loose skin around the abdomen, flanks, lower back and buttocks.
A 360 tummy tuck, also called a circumferential tummy tuck, belt lipectomy or lower body lift, removes this loose tissue around the lower torso. It improves the abdomen and sides while also lifting the lower back, buttocks and, in selected patients, the outer thighs.
What Is a 360 Tummy Tuck?
The term “360 tummy tuck” is commonly used by patients. Surgically, the operation may also be described as a lower body lift or belt lipectomy. The exact name depends on how much tissue is removed and which lower-body areas are lifted.
The scar continues around the lower torso. At the front, the operation behaves like a tummy tuck. At the sides and back, it removes loose skin and lifts the tissues of the lower back and buttocks.
Who Usually Needs It?
- Post-bariatric patients with circumferential skin excess.
- Patients after major natural or medication-assisted weight loss.
- Patients with abdominal looseness plus lower-back rolls and drooping buttocks.
- Patients whose loose skin extends beyond what an extended tummy tuck can remove.
- Patients with a belt-like fold around the waist.
- Selected revision patients after incomplete front-only skin removal.
“I lost the weight, but I still feel as though I am wearing the skin of my old body.”
360 Tummy Tuck Is Not the Same as Lipo 360
| Procedure | What It Removes | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Lipo 360 | Fat around the torso | Patients with good skin quality and circumferential fat |
| 360 tummy tuck / lower body lift | Loose skin and tissue around the lower torso | Patients with circumferential skin laxity, often after major weight loss |
| Combined contouring | Loose skin plus selected residual fat | Patients who need excision and carefully planned liposuction |
Lipo 360 cannot remove a hanging belt of skin. A lower body lift is an excisional operation, not simply a larger liposuction procedure.
What Areas Can Improve?
- Lower and central abdomen.
- Flanks and lateral waist.
- Lower-back skin rolls.
- Drooping or flattened buttocks through the lifting effect.
- Selected outer-thigh looseness.
- Mons pubis and lower abdominal balance.
- Muscle separation at the front of the abdomen when present.
A lower body lift does not automatically add volume to the buttocks. In selected patients, tissue can sometimes be shaped or used for auto-augmentation, but this requires individual planning and should not be promised as part of every operation.
360 Tummy Tuck vs Extended Tummy Tuck
| Question | Extended Tummy Tuck | 360 Tummy Tuck / Lower Body Lift |
|---|---|---|
| Skin excess | Front and sides | Front, sides and lower back |
| Scar | Long low scar extending toward hips | Circumferential scar around the lower torso |
| Buttock effect | Limited | Lifts lower-back and buttock tissues |
| Typical patient | Post-pregnancy or moderate weight-loss laxity extending laterally | Massive-weight-loss patient with a belt of loose skin |
| Surgical positioning | Usually mainly supine | Requires repositioning to treat the back and front |
Scar Placement and Positioning
The scar passes around the lower body. I plan it to sit as low and symmetrically as the tissue allows, but the exact position is influenced by the amount of skin, existing folds, buttock droop, old scars and clothing preference.
The patient is repositioned during surgery so the back, sides and front can be treated safely. This is one reason the operation is longer and more demanding than a standard tummy tuck.
Safety and Staging
A lower body lift is a powerful operation, but it should not become an excuse to combine every possible body-contouring procedure into one anaesthetic. Post-bariatric patients may have nutritional deficiencies, anaemia, residual obesity or medical conditions that increase risk.
I assess whether the patient is better served by one operation or staged surgery. Safe practice matters more than completing the entire transformation in a single day.
How I Perform the Procedure
- Detailed standing markings are made around the full torso.
- The operation is performed under general anaesthesia with careful positioning and pressure protection.
- The back and buttock component is treated, removing the planned belt of skin and lifting the lower tissues.
- The patient is repositioned for the abdominal component.
- The abdominal wall is repaired when required, and the belly button and mons are balanced.
- The circumferential closure is completed in layers with drains and compression as needed.
Recovery
Recovery is more demanding than a standard tummy tuck because the incision travels around the body and affects sitting, standing, turning and sleeping. Patients must have reliable home support and should expect a slower return to normal movement.
- Usual hospital stay: one night, with longer observation if medically required.
- Early assisted walking is encouraged for circulation and clot prevention.
- Desk work may require approximately 2–3 weeks or longer.
- Compression is usually needed for 6–8 weeks.
- Sitting and sleeping positions are individualized to protect both the front and back closures.
- Exercise and lifting resume only after wound stability and medical clearance.
Specific Risks and Limitations
This larger operation has a meaningful risk of delayed wound healing, seroma, scar widening, asymmetry, skin compromise, infection, blood clots, contour differences and need for revision. The operation lifts the buttocks but may not restore lost buttock volume. It also does not treat loose skin of the upper back or breasts unless separate procedures are planned.
Cost, Duration and Hospital Stay
| Procedure | Starting Price | Approximate Duration | Usual Stay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 360 tummy tuck / lower body lift | From AED 80,000 + VAT | Approximately 5 hours | 1 night |
All prices are starting estimates and exclude 5% VAT. The final quotation is confirmed after examination and may change with surgical complexity, previous operations, additional liposuction, hospital requirements or combined procedures.
Why Choose Dr. Hardik Ganatra for a Lower Body Lift?
A lower body lift is one of the clearest examples of why body contouring must be planned in three dimensions. The abdomen, flanks, lower back and buttocks all influence one another. Removing too much in one area or stopping too early in another can create imbalance.
I focus exclusively on body contouring and more than 50% of my work involves revision or correction cases. As a recreational natural bodybuilder, I understand how the waist, lower back and gluteal area should relate in a fit physique and how that relationship changes in movement.
My priorities are safe surgery, meaningful contour improvement, strong post-operative care and honest staging. I would rather divide a complex transformation into safe stages than promise an unsafe “all-in-one” operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a 360 tummy tuck the same as Lipo 360?
No. Lipo 360 removes fat. A 360 tummy tuck removes loose skin around the lower torso, and comes with a scar that goes all the way around.
Does it lift the buttocks?
Yes. The back component lifts the lower-back and buttock tissues. It won’t restore volume that’s already gone.
Will the scar go all the way around?
Yes. The scar is circumferential because the loose skin is circumferential.
Who is the best candidate?
A patient at a stable weight with loose skin around the abdomen, flanks and lower back, most often after major weight loss.
Can it be combined with liposuction?
Selected residual fat can be treated, but liposuction has to be planned carefully around large skin flaps and total operating time.
Can I combine it with breast or arm surgery?
Sometimes. But extensive post-weight-loss surgery often needs staging, and safety decides that, not convenience.
How long before I can work?
Most patients need at least 2–3 weeks before desk work, and longer for physically demanding jobs.
Will I need help at home?
Yes. Reliable help matters in the early weeks, because sitting, turning, dressing and wound care are all genuinely difficult at first.
Can it correct outer-thigh looseness?
It gives some lift to the outer thigh, though how much depends on the skin pattern. It doesn’t necessarily replace a dedicated thigh lift.
Book a Consultation
If back rolls, bra rolls, upper back fat, lower back fullness, love handles or an undefined waistline are something you want to address, a consultation is the right first step. I'll assess the back alongside the waist, flanks, abdomen and skin quality, and recommend the right option — isolated back liposuction, VASER, J-Plasma, Lipo 360, revision, high-definition sculpting, or a back lift if loose skin is the main concern.

This page is for general educational purposes and does not replace a personal consultation or medical examination. The correct procedure depends on the location and amount of loose skin, previous scars, abdominal muscle condition, weight stability, general health and individual healing risks. Results, recovery and scar quality vary from patient to patient.
