BUTTOCK REDUCTION AND SHAPING

Buttock Liposuction In Dubai For Men and Women

Not every patient wants a BBL

In the era of BBLs, buttock liposuction can sound unusual. Most people talk about making the buttocks bigger, rounder or more projected. But in my practice, I also meet patients who want the exact opposite. They may simply say, 'Doctor, I do not want a bigger butt. I want it smaller,' or, 'From the side, my buttocks stick out too much for my body.'

That concern is real. Some patients naturally store more fat in the buttocks than anywhere else. Their waist, thighs or upper body may be smaller, but the buttocks feel too heavy for the rest of the body. They may feel bottom-heavy, uncomfortable in fitted clothes, or disproportionate from the side.

But buttock liposuction should not just be about making the buttocks as small as possible. The important part is reducing volume without changing the natural shape too much. A smaller buttock can still look attractive, smooth and natural. It should not look flat, empty or saggy.

So I am not trying to completely deflate the buttocks. I am trying to reduce the heaviness while keeping the body in proportion.

The consultation is about proportion, not only size

When a patient says the buttocks are too big, I do not look only at the buttock. I look at the lower back, flanks, hips, banana rolls, outer thighs and saddle bags as well. Sometimes the issue is true buttock projection. Sometimes the hips are too round. Sometimes the lower back or banana roll is adding to the heaviness.

If we reduce only the buttock and ignore the surrounding areas, the result may still not look balanced. This is why the consultation matters. I need to understand whether the patient is bothered by the side view, the width of the hips, the projection of the buttocks, or the overall heaviness of the lower body. Each of these needs a slightly different plan.

Buttock liposuction is the opposite of BBL

A BBL adds fat to the buttocks. Buttock liposuction removes fat from the buttocks. They are opposite procedures, but both need good judgment.

With BBL, the mistake can be adding too much or creating a shape that does not suit the patient. With buttock liposuction, the mistake can be removing too much and making the buttocks look flat, loose or irregular. So the skill is not only in removing fat. It is also in knowing what to leave behind.

Can the buttocks be made smaller without looking flat?

Yes, in the right patient. But this has to be done carefully. If too much fat is removed from the wrong area, the buttocks can lose projection or look empty from the side.

I usually explain it simply: I am not trying to chase the smallest possible buttock. I am trying to make the buttock smaller in a way that still looks natural on that patient’s body. That is a very different operation.

Buttock liposuction in women

In women, I am usually careful not to remove the feminine curve. Most women who ask for buttock liposuction do not want a flat buttock. They want less bulk, less heaviness and a better fit in clothes, but they still want the buttocks to look shapely.

So in women, I usually try to preserve some roundness, some projection and a natural curve from the waist to the hip and buttock. The buttocks can be smaller, but they should still look feminine and proportional.

Buttock liposuction in men

Buttock liposuction in men is more common than people think. Men may feel that the buttocks stick out too much, the hips look too round, or the lower body looks softer than the upper body. Some men describe this as looking too feminine.

In men, the plan is usually different. I may reduce buttock projection more than I would in women. I also look carefully at the hip area because reducing rounded hip fullness can help create a more masculine hip dip. The goal in men is usually a straighter, flatter and more athletic lower-body shape - not a curved or projected buttock.

When the buttock is not just big - it is loose

This is where I slow the consultation down. A patient may ask for smaller buttocks, but when I examine them, the issue may not be fat alone. After major weight loss, bariatric surgery, Ozempic, Mounjaro or other GLP-1 weight-loss treatments, the buttock may look heavy because the skin is loose or the tissue has dropped.

That is not the same as a fatty buttock. If I remove fat from already loose skin, the buttock can look emptier, lower and more saggy. In that situation, buttock liposuction alone may not be the right answer. The patient may need a buttock lift instead.

Buttock liposuction vs buttock lift

This is an important difference. Buttock liposuction removes fat. A buttock lift removes loose skin and lifts sagging tissue.

If the skin is firm and the problem is extra fat, liposuction may be enough. If the buttock is hanging, empty or sagging, liposuction can make it look worse. I do not like offering liposuction just because the patient wants the buttocks smaller. First, I need to check whether the skin can handle the reduction. If the skin cannot handle it, a lift may be the more honest answer.

Will buttock liposuction improve cellulite?

Not always. Cellulite is not just fat. It is often caused by tight bands pulling the skin down and creating dimples. Liposuction can reduce fat volume, but it does not release those bands.

If the skin is firm and the problem is mainly cellulite dimples, treatments like Aveli or needle subcision may help. But if the buttock has loose skin or sagging, cellulite treatment alone may also have limits. In that situation, I may need to discuss a buttock lift instead.

When I add J-Plasma

J-Plasma can be useful when there is mild skin laxity. For example, if the patient has extra buttock fat and I feel the skin may need some support after liposuction, I may add J-Plasma.

But I do not use J-Plasma as a replacement for a lift. If the skin is clearly loose, folded or hanging, J-Plasma will not remove that skin. I use it only when the skin quality is suitable.

How buttock liposuction is done

Buttock liposuction can be done under pure local anaesthesia, local anaesthesia with sedation, or general anaesthesia. This depends on the patient, the area being treated and the comfort level needed.

In most cases, I use VASER with power-assisted liposuction. VASER helps loosen the fat, and PAL helps remove it in a controlled way. If J-Plasma is needed, I do it after the liposuction. The entry points are small and usually hidden under the buttock fold and just above the butt cleft.

Recovery after buttock liposuction

Most patients go home the same day. Recovery is usually manageable, but the first two weeks are important because the buttock area is exposed to sitting, friction, pressure and movement.

In my practice, compression is worn full-time for 2 weeks, then at night for another 2 weeks. Lymphatic massage usually starts from day 2, and around 5 sessions are advised on alternate days.

Most patients can return to work and driving after about 3 to 4 days. Upper-body gym can usually start after 2 weeks, and full gym after about 3 weeks. I also tell patients to avoid too much friction and long sitting in the first two weeks. The garment should support the area, but it should not create tight folds or pressure marks.

Cost of buttock liposuction in Dubai

Approximate starting prices:

Procedure Starting Price (AED)
VASER buttock liposuction From AED 25,000 excluding VAT
Buttock liposuction with J-Plasma From AED 30,000 excluding VAT

The final price depends on the amount of fat, skin quality, whether J-Plasma is needed, and whether the hips, lower back, banana rolls or outer thighs also need shaping for balance.

Why Choose Dr. Hardik Ganatra

Buttock liposuction is not just fat removal. It is a shape decision.

I do not treat every buttock the same way. In women, I usually reduce heaviness while protecting the curve. In men, I usually reduce projection and hip roundness to create a straighter, more athletic lower-body shape.

I also check whether the problem is truly fat - or whether it is loose skin, sagging, cellulite, hip fullness, banana rolls, lower-back heaviness or a combination.

As a recreational natural bodybuilder, I understand how the lower body should look in real life - standing, sitting, walking and in fitted clothing.

The goal is not to follow the BBL trend or the anti-BBL trend. The goal is to make the buttocks match the body.

Book a Consultation

If back rolls, bra rolls, upper back fat, lower back fullness, love handles or an undefined waistline are something you want to address, a consultation is the right first step. I'll assess the back alongside the waist, flanks, abdomen and skin quality, and recommend the right option — isolated back liposuction, VASER, J-Plasma, Lipo 360, revision, high-definition sculpting, or a back lift if loose skin is the main concern.
