ULTRASOUND-ASSISTED LIPO-SCULPTURING
VASER Liposuction In Dubai: The Surgeon’s Signature Procedure
VASER liposuction is one of the most requested body contouring procedures in Dubai — and also one of the most misunderstood. Many patients think VASER is the surgery. It isn't. VASER is a tool used during liposuction. It adds one step — ultrasound emulsification — before the fat is removed, softening dense and fibrous fat so extraction is smoother and contouring is more precise. The surgery is still planned, marked, and executed by the surgeon. I use VASER when it genuinely adds value — not because the name sounds advanced.
The surgeon still has to remove the fat uniformly and create a beautiful shape. This line is not in italics but in continuation with the previous line.
What Is VASER Liposuction?
VASER liposuction is ultrasound-assisted liposuction. During the procedure, ultrasound energy loosens and emulsifies the fat before it is removed, separating the fat cells from the surrounding connective tissue so extraction is smoother and more controlled in selected areas.
Patients sometimes describe this as “melting fat.” Medically I prefer a more accurate framing: VASER loosens fat cells from the tissue around them. It doesn't dissolve them — they still come out through cannulas, like any other liposuction. Once the fat is loosened, thin cannulas extract it and contour the area, and this is where surgical skill, planning, and judgment determine the result. VASER can be used for Lipo 360, back, arm, male chest, high-definition, thigh, and revision liposuction.
VASER Vs Traditional Liposuction — Where It Earns Its Place
Traditional liposuction removes fat directly with cannulas. VASER adds an ultrasound step before removal, loosening dense, fibrous fat first. That difference matters most where fat is compact or needs careful contouring, and less in straightforward cases with soft, easily removed fat. The decision is always case-specific.
In my practice, VASER earns its place in:
- Dense or fibrous fat — the back, flanks, and male chest
- Lipo 360 and full torso contouring
- High-definition liposuction, where muscle borders must be revealed carefully
- Arm liposuction, where skin retraction matters
- Revision or correction cases where scar tissue is present
The fibroseptal network — the connective tissue under the skin — is better preserved with VASER than with mechanical cannula work alone, which matters for skin retraction after surgery. But I don't use VASER as a gimmick. I use it when it earns its place in the plan. Technology helps. Technique decides.
VASER Liposuction Cost, Duration & Hospital Stay
Cost depends on the area treated, the number of areas, anaesthesia, hospital setup, and whether J-Plasma or other additions are part of the plan. All figures below are starting-from prices in AED; your exact quote is confirmed after consultation.
| Procedure | Starting Price (AED) | With J-Plasma (AED) | Duration | Hospital Stay |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VASER Arm Liposuction | 25,000 | 30,000 | 1.5–2 hours 3–4 hours | Day-case / 1 night |
| VASER Lipo 360 | 38,000 | 40,000 | 3–4 hours | Usually 1 night |
| VASER Back Liposuction | 25,000 | 30,000 | 1.5–2 hours | Day-case / 1 night |
| VASER Double Chin Liposuction | 12,000 | 18,000 | 1–1.5 hours | Day-case |
| VASER Face and Neck Liposuction | 22,000 | 25,000 | 2–2.5 hours | Day-case / 1 night |
| VASER Thigh Liposuction | 30,000 | - | 2–3 hours | Day-case / 1 night |
Final pricing is always confirmed after consultation — the plan drives the price, and the plan depends on the anatomy.
Why Choose Dr. Hardik Ganatra For VASER Liposuction?
Body contouring isn’t one of the things I do. It’s the only thing I do.
Exclusive focus on body contouring
VASER, Lipo 360, high-definition liposuction, back, arm and male chest liposuction, revision liposuction, J-Plasma, and post-weight-loss contouring. That’s the entire practice.
Background in fitness and bodybuilding
I assess the body in terms of muscle lines, waistline, proportion, and balance. That perspective changes how high-definition and body contouring cases are planned.
VASER is a tool, not the hero
the plan is. The markings are. The judgment is. The anatomy drives the decision, not the machine name.
Over 50% of cases are revision or correction
patients come to me after previous surgeries with lumps, dents, asymmetry, or fibrosis. That experience shapes how first-time cases are planned.
Hospital-based surgery
all procedures are performed in a proper hospital setup. Patient safety is not negotiable.
Remember: Technique always beats technology. Vaser is a great addition not a substitute to a good surgical skillset.
Are You A Good Candidate For VASER Liposuction?
VASER is likely a good fit if you:
- Are close to your goal weight with specific, stubborn fat areas
- Have dense or fibrous fat — back, flanks, male chest, or revision zones
- Want high-definition or Lipo 360 contouring
- Have reasonably good skin quality, so the skin can settle after fat removal
It may not be the right answer if:
- Your main problem is visceral fat (the deep fat around the organs) — weight loss comes first
- You have significant loose skin — the conversation shifts to J-Plasma, BodyTite, or a lifting procedure or tummy tuck
- You're expecting VASER to replace diet, exercise, or weight loss
VASER is a fat-softening tool. It works when the plan is correct — it can't rescue the wrong plan. Skin quality still gets a vote.
Before Your Surgery
Before anything else, I assess whether the problem is fat, loose skin, visceral fat, muscle separation, fibrosis, or a combination. VASER is added to the plan only if it makes sense for the anatomy — not as a default.
The treated areas are then marked while you're standing. Fat pockets, body shadows, asymmetries, muscle borders, and transition zones are all mapped before surgery begins — markings are where the result is first designed.
The anaesthesia plan is decided here too. Small areas may be done under local anaesthesia or sedation; larger cases — Lipo 360, high-definition, multi-area procedures — are done under general anaesthesia in a hospital setting, based on the extent of the plan and your preference.
How VASER Liposuction Is Performed
VASER liposuction follows a structured surgical sequence. The details shift with the area, but the steps are consistent.
Step 1: anaesthesia
Local anaesthesia or sedation for small areas; general anaesthesia in a hospital setting for larger or multi-area cases, as planned at consultation.
Step 2: fluid infiltration
A special fluid is infiltrated into the fat layer. It contains lidocaine for pain control and adrenaline to limit blood loss, reducing bleeding and bruising and making recovery more comfortable.
Step 3: VASER ultrasound emulsification
VASER energy loosens and emulsifies the fat. This usually adds around 15 to 30 minutes to a standard liposuction, applied at the correct depth and power for the specific area — not uniformly, not blindly.
Step 4: fat aspiration & sculpting
Cannulas then remove the loosened fat and create the contour. This is where the shaping happens — the surgeon decides what comes out, what stays, and what the final shape will be. VASER prepared the fat; technique does the rest.
Step 5: skin tightening when needed
If skin laxity is present, J-Plasma or BodyTite may be added in selected patients. If skin is significantly loose, a lift or tummy tuck is the more appropriate answer — a conversation that should have happened at consultation.
Step 6: incisions, drainage & garments
Incisions are kept small and hidden where possible. Some may be left open briefly for drainage in the first day or two — this is planned, not a complication. Compression garments are applied immediately after surgery.
Recovery & Aftercare
VASER can make surgery smoother in selected cases, but recovery still needs to be respected. Swelling, bruising, soreness, and tightness are all normal.
- First week: Rest and light activity — walking, showering and moving around the house is fine; most patients return to desk work within 5 to 7 days depending on the area.
- Around two weeks: Longer walks or light treadmill use.
- Gym & heavier exercise: Resume gradually with clearance at follow-up, usually around two to three weeks.
- Results: A good visible result is usually seen around 6 weeks, with final results in 3 to 6 months — sometimes longer in high-definition or revision cases, or when J-Plasma was added.
- Garments: Full-time for 4 to 6 weeks, then another 2 to 4 weeks depending on swelling and the area treated.
- Lymphatic massage: I strongly recommend it — starting from day 2 or 3, at least 10 to 15 sessions on alternate days. It helps with swelling, stiffness, and comfort, and genuinely makes recovery more manageable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is VASER liposuction better than normal liposuction?
In the right case, yes — it can make fat removal smoother and less mechanically aggressive. In straightforward cases with soft, easily removed fat, the difference may be minimal. The decision is anatomy-specific, not a blanket upgrade.
Does VASER tighten skin?
Not directly. It helps preserve the connective tissue beneath the skin, which supports retraction after fat removal. In patients with good skin quality that matters; in genuinely loose skin, VASER alone won’t solve it.
Can VASER replace a tummy tuck?
No — not when a tummy tuck is what’s actually indicated. Loose skin, hanging skin, diastasis, and stretch marks below the navel aren’t fat problems. VASER removes fat; a tummy tuck removes skin and repairs muscle.
Is VASER good for fibrous fat and back fat?
Yes — this is where it earns its place most reliably. Back fat, male chest, flanks, and revision zones often have denser, more fibrous tissue that benefits from emulsification before extraction.
Can VASER cause burns?
Yes, if used incorrectly or too aggressively — which is why energy settings, application speed, and technique matter. The surgeon controls the machine, not the other way around.
When will I see results?
A good visible result is usually noticeable around 6 weeks; final results take 3 to 6 months, sometimes longer in high-definition or revision cases. Don’t judge the result too early.
Can fat come back after VASER liposuction?
The fat cells removed don’t come back, but the remaining fat cells can enlarge with weight gain. The surgery improves the shape; stable weight is what protects it long-term.
