Float Abdominoplasty In Dubai

Float abdominoplasty — also called a float tummy tuck or umbilical-float abdominoplasty — is a limited operation for a very specific patient. It tightens the lower abdomen and repairs muscle separation without creating a new external scar around the belly button.

It is not a shortcut version of a full tummy tuck. It works only when there's mild lower abdominal skin excess, minimal looseness above the belly button, and a belly button sitting high enough to be lowered slightly without looking odd.

What Is A Float Abdominoplasty?

Through a low abdominal incision, the skin is lifted, the abdominal muscles are repaired and a limited amount of lower abdominal skin is removed. The belly button is released internally from the abdominal wall and “floats” slightly downward with the skin, so there's no new scar around it.

Because the belly button moves down, its starting position and the distance it travels both need careful assessment. Too much downward movement gives an unnaturally low belly button and proportions that look wrong.

How It Compares — Mini And Full Tummy Tuck

Procedure Skin Correction Muscle Repair Belly Button
Mini Tummy Tuck Limited lower abdominal skin Usually limited Stays attached; doesn't move much
Float Abdominoplasty Mild lower skin + selected redraping Can allow wider repair Released internally & lowered slightly; no new scar
Full Tummy Tuck Skin above & below the navel Full repair when needed Brought through a new opening; scar hidden around it

It can correct mild lower abdominal loose skin, lower-tummy bulging that's partly down to muscle separation, selected post-pregnancy abdominal wall weakness, and a small lower fold or c-section-related looseness. It won't remove a large skin apron, significant upper abdominal looseness, or major side and back excess — when those are present, a full, extended or 360 tummy tuck is the honest answer.

Why Choose Dr. Hardik Ganatra For Float Abdominoplasty?

The critical skill in float abdominoplasty isn't the incision — it's patient selection. I work exclusively in body contouring, and I assess how the abdomen looks standing, sitting and moving before deciding whether a limited procedure can realistically meet what someone wants.

As a recreational natural bodybuilder, I have a clear sense of how belly-button position, abdominal muscle tension and lower-torso proportions read on a lean physique. More than half of my work is revision and correction, which makes me cautious about techniques that look elegant in theory and create awkward proportions in the wrong patient.

Safe surgery, strong results, careful aftercare, honest guidance. If you need a full tummy tuck, i'll say so, rather than recommend a float procedure to avoid one small scar.

Are You A Good Candidate ?

“the right patient gets an elegant result. The wrong patient gets an abdomen that's still loose and a belly button sitting too low.”

Before Your Surgery

I assess your skin excess and belly-button position with you standing, and I measure the starting height along with the distances between the belly button, the pubic area and the lower chest. The whole appeal of a float procedure is avoiding a new umbilical scar — but that's only worth having if the belly button can move slightly downward and still sit somewhere natural. If it already sits low, i'm not going to use this technique just to dodge an umbilical scar. The low incision is planned to sit inside underwear or swimwear.

How I Perform The Procedure

Recovery & Aftercare

The skin removal is smaller than a full tummy tuck, but the muscle repair still makes its presence felt. “mini” and “float” describe the skin work, not promises about downtime.

The concerns specific to this operation are an unnaturally low belly button, residual upper abdominal looseness, limited skin removal, asymmetry, recurrent muscle separation, scar problems, and disappointment in a patient who expected the power of a full tummy tuck from a smaller procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a float tummy tuck the same as a mini tummy tuck?

No. A float procedure releases the belly button internally so it can move slightly downward, and allows a broader muscle repair. A mini tummy tuck usually leaves the belly button attached.

No new external scar is created around it. The belly button does move slightly downward.

Only a limited distance. How far depends on the starting position and how much skin is removed.

Only a very limited amount. Significant upper abdominal skin excess needs a full tummy tuck.

Yes. That’s one of the main reasons to choose this technique: diastasis can be repaired through a low incision, in the right patient.

Patients with a low belly button, major loose skin, significant upper abdominal laxity, unstable weight, or expectations that really need a full tummy tuck.

The skin side of it, yes. The muscle repair still needs real downtime and protection.

More weight loss creates more loose skin. Better to be close to a stable target weight before surgery than to redo the work afterwards.

Book a Consultation

Float abdominoplasty is all about being the right patient for it. Book a consultation and I'll assess your skin, your muscle repair needs and your belly-button position — and tell you honestly whether a float procedure fits, or whether a full tummy tuck is the better answer.
